Camino Wayfinder Community Standards

Camino Wayfinder community tools are for practical, respectful help between pilgrims. Tips and chat may be removed and accounts may be suspended when these standards are violated.
Be Helpful And Accurate
Share firsthand trail conditions, lodging and food suggestions, water availability, closures, transport information, weather observations, prayer groups, and meetup details. Include when you observed something and use “No longer true” when information has changed. “Still true” and “No longer true” are community verdicts, not official safety verification. Do not present guesses as confirmed safety information or misuse verdicts to punish another pilgrim.
Respect Privacy And Safety
Do not post another person's exact location, private contact details, lodging room, medical details, photos, or travel plans without permission. Do not use the app to track, threaten, harass, or pressure another pilgrim. Nearby and ahead-of-you rooms use rounded trail segments and are always optional.
Prohibited Content
Spam, scams, impersonation, hate, sexual exploitation, threats, illegal activity, dangerous advice, repeated unwanted contact, and deliberate misinformation are prohibited. Commercial recommendations must be honest and relevant to the location.
Reporting And Blocking
Signed-in users can report tips, messages, and public profiles and can block another user. Reports are reviewed by moderators, who can hide or delete content and suspend accounts. Blocking removes that person's visible tips and messages for the blocker.
Moderation And Appeals
Moderation decisions use the content, linked route context, reports, these standards, and available safety evidence. When an action is eligible for appeal, the affected signed-in user can submit one appeal from Account. A moderator records whether the action is upheld or overturned and provides a public resolution. An appeal does not delay an urgent safety removal, and repeated duplicate appeals do not create additional reviews.
Verified Local Experts
A local-expert label is limited to its stated route or place and expires unless it is reviewed again. It does not make every statement official, replace an authority notice, or guarantee that conditions have not changed. Verification can be revoked if evidence changes or these standards are violated.
